Movie screening benefiting CASA for Lancaster County
"Our Bravest search is for ourselves." - FATHER UNKNOWN
Captured on a camera phone as it happened, FATHER UNKNOWN is the true story of a man's struggle to face the emptiness he carries inside. Disconnected from the people closest to him and haunted by the secrecy in his family, he records his desperate search for connection on a journey with the father he's never truly known.
This endearing and universal story brings audiences along for the ride in real time on a deep and powerful journey, inspiring courageous conversations about the search for identity, the longing for connection in family relationships, the resilience of the human spirit, and the journey to heal the pain of the past.
Please join CASA for Lancaster County along with Filmmaker David Quint and his father Urban for an exclusive screening of FATHER UNKNOWN followed by a Q&A session with the film's stars. There will be a cash bar reception starting at 6:00 pm prior to the movie screening.
Seating is limited. Ticket price is tax deductible. All proceeds benefit CASA for Lancaster, a 501C(3) nonprofit.
Why CASA?
Currently there are over 4400 children in Nebraska that are wards of the state, 3598 of which are currently placed out of their home. In Lancaster County, the number of children removed from their homes has skyrocketed and the number of truly horrific cases has dramatically increased as well. Instead of playing with neighbors and making happy family memories, these children are attending court hearings, adjusting to new foster homes and transitioning to new schools. That's a heavy burden for a child to carry. With a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer dedicated to their case, our most vulnerable children will have someone speaking up for their best interests. With your support, more children will have the opportunity to thrive in a safe and loving home.
